Once upon a time, a scrappy team of 12 built a bar in just 4 weeks.
In just one month, we hammered, sanded, and built a modest pop up called Le Bok Fin (the name of the former school’s culinary program). We invited neighbors and friends to come grab a drink, catch a breeze, talk about the plans for the wider building and watch the sunset with us.
We hoped to see a few dozen of your smiling faces that first week, so you can imagine our surprise when more than 2,000 people showed up. Word spread like wildfire. Our first summer was a roller coaster (a fun one) and we learned on the fly. What was once a crazy experiment soon became a summertime ritual. The following summer, we opened more permanently as “Bok Bar.” Our crew calls it summer camp—we gather each year for a new adventure.
